|Diana Taurasi was red-hot and only limited court time could keep her at 28 points against Györ|
Galatasaray blew away Uni Seat Györ on Wednesday in the first EuroLeague Women clash of the 2012 for both sides.
Hosting the game in Istanbul, Ceyhun Yildizoglu's side got 28 points from Diana Taurasi and stormed to a 99-46 victory.
The USA superstar played less than 21 minutes and did everything well, making 11 of 13 shots from the floor.
She drilled both of her attempts from long range.
Veteran center Ivanka Matic added 18 points and 12 rebounds while Tina Charles scored 15 points and Alba Torrens 14.
The result was beyond doubt by the end of the first quarter, when Galatasaray led 30-13.
Taurasi's 16 points in that frame led the home side.
With 6:15 to play in the opening half, the rout was well and truly on with Gala leading 39-14.
The rest of the contest was an exercise in damage limitation for the Hungarian outfit.
Ticha Penicheiro, who played several games with ZVVZ USK Prague, has joined Galatasaray and she played 18 minutes on Wednesday and had four assists, four rebounds and three steals to go with her two points.
Gala improved to 9-2 with the win and remained firmly in the hunt for first place in Group A while Györ fell to 2-9.
